Studio debut album by lead vocalist of Interpol with his second solo album [!]. His first actual solo debut was released under the name of Julian Plenti and was musically far from that of Interpol with a polished styled art pop, synthpop, which explains the alias in an attempt to distance himself from the darker post-punk image bound to his name. Banks is then his solo debut released in his own name, and it's a fine return to the style of Interpol with a touch of art rock and indie pop and I almost said singer / songwriter... at least he sort of steps more into the foreground lyrically.
I really enjoy and recommend this album and find it one of the best releases in 2012.
