Single release by early Danish pop vocalist Bjørn Tidmand who made a national breakthrough at age 23 when he participated at the national Eurovision contest with the song "Amiga Mia", which came second and around the same time he released the national hit song "Brænd mine breve" - a cover of "Pick Up the Pieces" by Larry Finnegan (aka John Finneran). "Nu ta'r jeg til Dublin" is an Irish traditional - the original is titled "Off to Dublin in the Green" (here with The Dubliners) - with Danish lyrics by Thøger Olesen and Tidmand's version topped the Danish singles chart in '67.
This single was part of my parents' record collection, it's a song I remember from my childhood as a song I enjoyed at age 6-9. I did like Bjørn Tidmand as a pre-teen, at a time when the music of my parents still had the strongest impact on my liking.
